Description

Despite growing concerns about climate change, Singaporeans have been slow to adopt sustainable practices with recycling levels currently at an all-time low for the past decade. While the government has dedicated recycling and waste management goals, their current education and encouragement efforts leave much to be desired. Such efforts consist mainly of an annual report, which is viewed infrequently and does not provide real-time updates. Furthermore, many Singaporeans are unsure about the recycling process, where the bins are, and what should go into them.

Our solution: BinBoleh! This app is designed to specifically address these challenges and promote greater sustainability efforts at the neighbourhood, district, and national levels. BinBoleh provides frequent updates to users, receiving recycling data in real-time. The app displays the performance of different districts, recycling trends nationwide, and provides tangible representations of the positive impact of our recycling efforts. It also includes a GPS map showing the locations and ID numbers of recycling bins for easier access. Additionally, an AI chatbot is available to help users identify the recyclability of materials and answer other recycling-related questions. With the help of BinBoleh, we can all do our part to contribute to a cleaner and greener Singapore.
