Description
Our project is an interactive reaction and matching game designed for both young learners and digital design hobbyists. The game uses a single LED matrix to display gameplay, where players must match items with the correct target using two buttons.
When you press START, a random item—either a rabbit or a cat—appears, prompting you to press the corresponding button (pancake for rabbit, milkshake for cat). A bomb may also appear; if so, you must press both buttons to skip it, or the game ends immediately. Each correct action earns a point, while an incorrect or missed response deducts a life. If no move is made within one second, a life is lost.
With an initial allocation of three lives, the game challenges players to beat the previous high score before running out of time or lives. The design is minimal and energy efficient, featuring a streamlined finite-state machine and datapath.
The enclosure uses laser-cut wood that fits together like a jigsaw puzzle, ensuring easy assembly, disassembly, and recycling.
