Description

This project is an interactive rhythm-based arcade game inspired by Piano Tiles, built entirely on an FPGA and housed in a laser-cut wooden cabinet. Players press one of three large arcade buttons precisely when the corresponding LED strip lights up in the final row, earning points for correct timing and losing points for misses or early presses.

A tactile side button lets players start, pause, or resume the game. The visuals are driven by three WS2812B addressable LED strips that simulate falling tiles, while a multiplexed dual-digit 7-segment display shows the live score. All game logic is handled by the FPGA without any microcontroller or operating system.

The modular system design allows for easy repairs and future upgrades. Sustainability is a key focus, with the use of recycled wood, minimal component count, and energy-efficient logic. The result is a fun, durable, and eco-friendly demonstration of hardware-level interactivity.
